Rental Assistance Program

The Rental Assistance Program provides eligible low-income working families with cash assistance to help with their monthly rent payments. Families must have at least one dependent child, a household income less than $35,000 per year, and must have lived in British Columbia for the last 12 months.

  Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters(SAFER)

Lower income seniors renting in the private market may be eligible for a rent supplement through SAFER. To receive a copy of the SAFER application form or the SAFER brochure, click the check boxes below.

Housing Application Form

To receive an application form to live in subsidized housing, either as a senior, family member or adult with disabilities, check the Housing Application Form box below. Copies of the Housing Listings for each geographical area of British Columbia are also available. When selecting your area of interest, double check to ensure that you have selected the group appropriate for you: families (clear column) or seniors / adults with disabilities (blue column).

Home Adaptation for Independence (HAFI)

The HAFI program provides financial assistance for modifications to help eligible low-income people with diminished abilities in British Columbia to continue to live in the comfort of their home. Modifications must directly relate to a permanent diminished ability, household income must be less than the Housing Income Limits for the area, and household assets must be less than $100,000.
